Sarasota, FL – The motto of the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division is "Second to None." That motto fits personal injury attorneys Jeff Luhrsen, a one-time 2ID soldier, and Julie Luhrsen of the Luhrsen Law Group like a glove. After high school, Attorney Jeff enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for seven years. Later, the two met while serving on active duty in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps while both were assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. After leaving active duty, they formed their own law firm dedicated to helping injured clients, especially victims of drunk drivers. As partners in the Luhrsen Law Group, the attorneys bring their unique military experience and high personal standards to the practice of personal injury law.
During his tenure as a Judge Advocate, Attorney Jeff Luhrsen served with the 82nd Airborne Division, the 2nd Infantry Division and at Fort Bliss in Texas. He got his courtroom feet wet working as both a military prosecutor and Special Assistant to the U.S. Attorney with the Department of Justice. Looking back, Mr. Luhrsen says, "I looked to the military as a way of testing my skills as a lawyer. …I had the honor of serving with and providing legal assistance to soldiers; my favorite days were spent in the military and civilian courtrooms where I put my advocacy skills to work."
Attorney Julie Luhrsen was drawn to the Army JAG Corps for the opportunity to practice law. She spent much of her time on active duty trying cases—first as a military prosecutor and then later as criminal defense lawyer. However, Ms. Luhrsen says, "…it was the time spent helping individual soldiers with their legal problems that kept me serving for eight years." After leaving active duty, Ms. Luhrsen continued her military service in the U.S. Army Reserves, serving as the Command Judge Advocate with the 32nd Transportation Group in Tampa. Among the many awards she received during her military career, she is most proud of the American Bar Association’s 1993 Legal Assistance Distinguished Service Award for her work in support of post-Hurricane Andrew relief efforts.
Migrating from the military to the practice of personal injury law was a natural progression. The Luhrsens' trial experience as prosecutors and defense attorneys instilled in them a strong desire to help individuals. As they like to say, Luhrsen Law Group is "second to none” when it comes to serving their clients, who become like family: "…we get to know ouhttp://articlecirculation.com/contentspecific.asp?ID=234019r clients…we care about them and we want the best for them…which is what we strive to accomplish for each of them." Together, the Luhrsen attorneys have built a legal team of dedicated professionals who are equally committed to their clients, providing clients with timely counsel and guiding them through the personal injury legal process.
The law firm's mission guides their practice and their relationship to those who seek their help: "to recover fair compensation for their clients, to sensitively understand their issues, and to fight for justice."
